Open bonnet and identify the compressor grooved pulley at the front of the engine, mounted very low down.
Start the engine with 'ECON' selected. Observe the pulley rotating but that the centre disc remains stationary.
Preferably ask an assistant to press the windscreen demist button whilst you watch the pulley.
The centre disc should move towards the body of the compressor and start rotating. It should remain in this condition whilst in demist mode.
