Breakdown cover is a good example, you can get cover cheaper with the smaller companies, even with cashback sites. And there's no waiting for money back, however if you specifically want to go with a certain company then it makes sense.

I have to disagree.
For example: Brand name being RAC, I bought breakdown cover with all the perks, cost £100. I went via Quidco and just 4 months later the RAC paid me back £70, that means my £100 cover with all the benefits cost me just £30. There is no way a small firm would be able to match the £30 cost and still offer the same benefits, impossible.
