I don't think anyone's mentioned the two drop links from the strut collars to each end of the stabiliser (anti-roll) bar.
If any of the four ball joints has gone, the slightest road bump will register through the suspension as a hard knock.
Sorry if this has been discussed already. I didn't see it.

EDIT: I see Phil mentioned it in Post 2, but no checks reported (?)
