No I have not got a pit, wish I had, or a lift. I run the car up onto two home made wooden ramps which gives me about another 6 inches of clearance. I have a block of wood which I place under the cover in the middle, And then proceed to take the screws out of the cover lying on my side/ back ( did this two weeks ago for oil change) then just pull the cover from underneath. Simples. And I' m an old goat of 76.
