there seems to be another strange problem under my car here.

this one is the V6 dorchester, not the gold one.

attempted to open up the fixings like one poster suggested above, but frankly they are firmly in contact and this metal on the bracket is 2-3mm thick - not good, these are NOT the right thing to use, they blantantly don't fit.

on the drivers side, the bracket underneath the car just behind the wheel has a pipe running right below it. the screws in this kit will push into this and damage the pipe if I try and use them. Do all cars have this sort of routing of the pipes, or is something odd going on here?

All I know is I can't use the kit from DMGR's, I'll have to get some m8 bolts and repair washers and try and drop one in from above to bolt up on to, in at least this position.

No offense intended to Matt, but my feedback on those fixing kits is they are far from ideal unfortunately. The clips don't fit on the brackets without serious bending, and risk of slipping of follows that. Plus the screw head is flat type, not philips which is a pain.
