These plants are surprisingly sophisticated and can recover safe water from almost any water borne chemicals, both organic and inorganic They also remove biological toxins and pathogens. More important than ethylene glycol and 'OAT', is the removel of heavy metals that most four year old coolants will contain. On the other hand, engine oil must never be dumped into domestic or street drains. The 'bugs' that reatment plants rely on can be killed by insoluble oils. The authorities spend billions just removing cooking oils and engine oils from waste water before it even gets into the plant. That's where your water rates go.
