i realise at least i could open the Kaiser stat up to exchange but what with ??? Also im not sure if its possible to replace the stat in metal housing in situ as the nuts on the bottom of the housing look so difficult to hold while you undo the Allen screws, Those nuts should be welded in place to make the job easy to do.

He would know the size of the stat required to give you an idea what to search for.---
