Many Rovers had the LDN Overdrive on 4th gear - optional on the P4 90 1955 to 1959, standard on the 105/105R/105S and later 80, 100 and 110, and all the P5 3 Litre manuals. Rover had a complex system of throttle switches that did not allow the OD to engage on full throttle, or disengage on the overrun, so that changes in and out of OD were smooth. Makes a real difference to highway cruising.
