But the reality is that Supposedly eating bacon/red meat increases the baseline likelihood from say, 1 in a 1000 to 1.18 in a thousand.
It is an increase certainly - but these headlines are designed to make an impact - not brief us all on the reality of the situation.

It could also be interpreted that if I eat 21 slices of bacon a week, my neighbour could contract bowel cancer lol. (Incidentally I am in a high risk group for bowel cancer due to hereditary factors, but also with other cancers as well as heart disease - no surprise really when you look at our breakfasts above
)
