That cross-headed bar only sits one way in the actuator, so slot it in the actuator (I used a carefully placed little dab of silicone to help secure it in position when manoeuvring the lock into the door) and then it should just line up with the driver lock door barrel when in position - although you might need to get your hand in there to place it. It's not that bad a job.
I did this job recently and the new actuator is actually a pattern part (don't see Bosch on it anywhere) and seems to be a little bit bulkier than the OEM item, so just getting it in the door cavity is the biggest job - need to loosen the window regulator bolts to facilitate.
