One of you friends VIS motors is reporting a fault, confirm by going into the engine menu and activate the VIS motors. You need the bonnet open as you won't get anything on the computer, if all is well you should hear 4 sweeps as each motor activates. Contact Stocktake if you need replacements.

And check the fan too, also engine menu, move the slider mid-way and press start checking low/medium/high speed (for 3 speed fans).

Once I've replaced the camshaft sensor and got the car running, I'll check the other issues highlighted on the TOAF scan, I noticed the VIS motor error, I recall when he bought the car in April 2017 the previous owner said that the VIS motors had been replaced, do they have such a short lifespan?
I'll also run a check on the cooling fan function.
