Removed the bumper and OS headlight to figure out why it stopped working.
The usual culprit is chaffed wiring, however I had addressed the exposed chassis seam earlier in the year so it was unlikely to be cause. Sure enough the wiring was in tact and testing the wiring plug with a multimeter showed current as expected.
Frustratingly I found it was little more than a dodgy connection into the headlight unit, which kicked into life after disconnecting and reconnecting a couple of times. Normal service now restored - shame I've got the needless faff of refitting the bumper to contend with and the task to trying to decrease the awful panel gaps.
