To be honest it's quite handy for some things having an email receipt,
I had to return a security light to screwfix as it was faulty, Showed them email receipt with order details and was back out the shop within 5 mins with a replacement.

I have a trade card so halfords have my email details but don't find that they bombard me with emails.

You could of coarse just give them a total made up email address as long as the last bit is hotmail, gmail, sky, yahoo etc .co .uk I doubt they would question it.
