Willy, that area is also used for fighter tactics and weapons training with Cobham Aviation providing the electronic simulation systems fitted on modified Falcon 20 biz jets often operating out of Durham airport and RAF Leeming. The RAF and USAF held a big exercise there in May with over a 100 aircraft involved. Interestingly the F16 pilot killed was the squadrons weapons and tactics leader.
