Debs and you have our deepest sympathy Andy, its incredibly hard losing a pet. We've lost two dogs, the only consolation is neither had to involve the vet. Milka (Poodle) was over 18, he passed away in his own bed during the night, the other, Abbey (Maltese/Pekingese cross) was nearly 16, she passed away in my arms as I was drying her after a bath, suspect her heart gave out. We couldn't be without a dogs though and never only one, current "family" is two Shih Tzus and a Shih Tzu/Pug cross.
