"Creep" is the drag caused by the torque convertor turning in the auto transmission fluid. Have you got the correct grade of fluid in there? It is perfectly normal for an auto to creep as you say but if it is excessive, perhaps the fluid is too thick and is causing additional friction.

fluid change doesn't do any harm (advised in fact to remove old fluid and contaminants).
Excessive is the key word here.
