Every auto I have owned, has crept forward, they all do. If they didn't, when you tried to accelerate...it wouldn't go anywhere.
Remember, you can't select D, 2,3, or 4, from P or R, unless you have your foot on the foot brake. It's a safety feature in case the gear lever was accidentally knocked into gear, you have brakes applied.
