Default Just not that simple...

So I ordered casing and lid, and tried again. No problem with the new lid, but it didn’t fix the problem either. Had it on and off countless times, but the motor just clicks or graunches when I connect it to the car and press the actuator button.

Having spent most of the day on it, close to despair here… the only thing I haven't tried is fitting the new casing. And the problem with that is, to get the motor out of it you have to remove these tiny wires, which are in microscopic crimps, and I can see no way I might remove them.

Before I torch the car and get a Nissan Leaf, does anybody have any ideas how to open the crimps?

*UPDATE* OK, what happens is that it will spin its full ¼ turn clockwise, but if I reverse the wires and power it again, I can hear something that sounds like the gears slipping or something. This suggests that the gears are meshed OK (or it wouldn't spin clockwise), but are being allowed to move around by the worn casing when they try to spin the other way... what does eveyrbody think?

Seriously doing my head in here
