Many other things can work too, just be careful when going from the tube into the outlet that you don't get them separated.
Sometimes it is enough to just go under the car and clean the last part of the pipe protruding into the wheel well.

is the outlet accessible by looking under the car or will I need to pull back the wheel arch liner as I've seen people suggest before?
