Temperature gauge is about as useful as a chocolate teapot it will read normal anywhere from around 75° - 115° On a diesel, correct operating temperature should be 88° this can be checked using OBD diagnostics mode 19 section 7, If it’s not reaching the 9 o’clock position then it’s not running at the correct operating temperature it’s running cool, not great for fuel economy etc
