Any moisture in the car (from wet feet or clothing) will cause misting on very cold days (especially on short journeys). I use the air con (if you have it) all year round to dehumidify the air/upholstery/carpets inside the cabin. +1 on the suggestion of flap in wrong position also. Adjusting the thumbwheel for fresh/recycled air may also help.
