I have the launcher on both my Android units and it's great! Oleg and his team did a splendid job
The home screen is not customisable in the way that you can reconfigure the layout. You can however put any app on your unit under any of the buttons. You can even place multiple apps under one button. Short press and long press but I find that to be too distractive so I never used that. And yes, you can have DAB+ app under the radio button.
Best part is you can adjust the theme to fit your dashboard and illumination. I have a black oak dash and blue illumination (not surprising since it is an MG
). The team even added the black oak background (and the original MG logo) to the app after my request
Best experience you get with Poweramp as music player but it is not necessary.
Just give it a try. You can use the app for 30 days without limitations and if you don't like it (unlikely as that is) you can uninstall and revert to the original launcher.
