Over the past few months I've been getting around 20mpg on my 2.5 though that's mainly driving around town. That works out at approximately 30 pence per mile using Shell Nitro or whatever it's called. A cheaper fuel would cost less but get fewer mpg so work out probably about the same cost per mile.
Then there's road tax as above.
Plus insurance.
Plus service and MOT - cost me £110 for the lot this year.
Then there are things that go wrong and need fixing - total over the past 12 months £0.
Don't forget the cost of Simon's Bulgarian walnut trim.
Then there's the cost of a handwash every so often - say £5 every couple of weeks. Or a hand polish. £20 every fortnight say.
Finally the cost of saving up for a new cambelt - £500 once every five years.
Enjoy - it may be more affordable than you think.
