Started on the list of MOT jobs - OSF track rod end had a bit of play so decided to kick off with the easy stuff.

Balljoint separated no problem but the lock nut was well and truly seized on the tie rod. Wire brushed the visible thread and soaked the nut in Plus Gas and it still wouldn't budge, so got the blow torch out and gave it some heat.....

Ran out of gas so slit through the nut with my Dremel, opened it with a screwdriver and adjustable and finally got it off. Cleaned up the thread with a thread file and then spent the next 15 minutes looking for a replacement nut.

Hope the other jobs don't end up being as much hassle and time consuming.
