Very true, it's all down to practice.

Mild steel is the only thing I weld now, very easy to do, my son made his first passable weld at 9 years old

I use CO2, not ideal but very cheap, no rental on the bottle and £15 for a refill.

These days rust proofing on cars is so good I hardly ever get asked to patch cars up, I did make this stove over the weekend out of an old gas bottle and a pyrex dish though For my shed.



Although CO2 isn't ideal, welds can be a bit raised and it can spatter a bit, you can get decent welds using it.
