Thanks to the idiotic spring pins, I just spent the best part of an hour turning one of the adjusters round.
Trick is to fully adjust the knurled nut so shoes are as far as they will go, then use a clothes peg old style ones, cut a little notch in each end fit that onto the top of the shoe then back off the knurled nut remove and swap round

Fit peg where the arrow is in the photo.
