Thought the EP message was gearbox related - automatic? Have you tried a half hour battery disconnected reset? State of battery, what voltage at the terminals?
A link to the ECU kit would be handy, but as long as the main ECU, immobiliser (EWS) & transponder chip(s) within the backs of the keyfobs are all from the same car you should be alright.
But try the battery reset first and make sure the battery is fully charged, these cars are fussy.
