Excellent Steve, you've solved it! In your cartoon you inserted a dotted black line between the black motor wire (which we were told is earthed) and the red wire side of the resistor.
I think that's what
Zickleer's mechanic has done. So the motor red and green wires are still supplied with +12v via the aftermarket RL-150B relay but the motor's black wire is now earthed via the resistor and control box relays to achieve the two speeds. Does that make sense Steve and Dave?
So the fan is now wired via the control box as it should be. I would have removed the RL-150B relay and its wiring entirely, connecting the car's original thick brown wire directly to motor red and green. I hope that
Zickleer will reply concerning this.
Anyway, it's great news that he's got it working correctly and I'm delighted that we were able to help.
