Ideally it does. To achieve around 150-155bhp you need to be upping the boost to 24psi with a manual boost controller
. You can still achieve 320-330lbft of torque without it, as the maximum torque comes much lower in the rev range, but you'll have a little smoke at the top end. You run out of boost before you run out of fuel. The maximum power the fuel system can produce is approx 177bhp. With my old ZT I had a 330D VNT turbo fitted which was pushing 32psi of boost into it, and with the fuel system maxed out it managed 177bhp on a dyno. Torque curve was amazingly smooth with the VNT
