Regarding the blind it may need a strip down as I think the mechanisms may have moved, but you could try a bit of furniture polish on the top runner were the two arms go has been known to work!

No Scott, not tried folding again yet! Returned from Cornwall Friday evening in deadfall weather (won't help the sills). Had a problem though trying to park in Truro. Could not engage reverse! All gears had been getting difficult to get. Eventually after going round the car park the wrong way – not funny, I got it back to Redruth where we were staying. There is still a Rover garage but they are virtually in Lands End, too far to risk getting to. Found a specialist works in Falmouth (DT Motors) who could do anything until a week later! However, managed to get to them Weds morning for a check. Very helpful. But car would not reverse again. They tried checking the fluid which was totally black but reckoned the master cylinder was the problem. I had to leave it with them. Nearby was a Enterprise car hire place, so got a Fiesta from them.
Ringing DT the next morning it had not been touched, so had to arrange a hire car extension. Finally late afternoon they rang and it was done.
Flew over to Falmouth from Camborne handed car hire back which cost £110 and then walked to DT to collect car. They do claim to fit quality parts and said they had fitted a LUK cylinder, but a plastic one with a neoprene pipe as he said metal ones are not made. (Obviously untrue). I was not in the position to say or do anything about it.
That cost £150 for the part, some DOT4 fluid, £49 labour plus VAT came to £327 (plus the car hire £110) so Cornwall was all an expensive visit.
However, it works if a bit squeaky. Came back Friday night and tried the Cruise control which Jules last year got going for me only to find it no longer works! They of course have disturbed the switch and I know the master is in a pig of a place to get to, but it's more annoyance.
Hopefully the replacement master will continue to work for a good few miles. Fingers crossed!
Ray
