i say yes to fuel surcharge to offset road tax is a fairer system as the apparent non compliance rate here is pretty obvious as we still have the disc display system..

However, the bug has a hold of me and the Dacia is just not a RoverMG
I fear the same will happen here in the UK Gerry, its only a matter of time before VED prices for the older motors match yours.

I think when folk are in the market to buy a new/newer car, there are obviously certain criteria that must meet their needs. For example, is said person a one car family, or do they have more than one vehicle and are simply replacing the daily driver.

We ourselves bought the Dacia to replace the old Ford Galaxy, it was never a replacement for the ZT, I still have both the ZT and TF which I do drive. I think when folk start comparing new cars with old, you are never going to get a good comparison. I would have bought the MG GS SUV if it had a lower CO2, the whole idea of buying a Dacia was about saving some pennies.
