Simple problem? Replacing a gearbox isn't that easy, at least not on a front wheel drive machine, I can do it as long as I can work at my own slow speed - a few hours here and there.
And if I get tired of spanners then I've got a deadish T4 I recently rescued, just waiting for the postman to bear gifts and advice from afar.
No lockdown here so there's other stuff to be done, while using common sense, perhaps even picking-up a replacement gearbox
