Excellent news Brian, thank you as I could do with some cheering up having found the gearbox is playing up despite the clutch working.
The oil was type MTF94, described as Trans MPM Honda/Rover, quite expensive here, but the ungrateful box didn’t appreciate it.
I’m pretty sure the cables are secure, but at this stage more than willing to check them again.
And then perhaps time for a nigh 70 year old to learn to de-clutch so he can teach daughter ...
