Hi Chris,
The "demist test" is a quick and straightforward way of finding out if your radiator fan slow speed has failed. A forum search using that term will reveal all.

Unfortunately the temperature gauge is unhelpful since it will display "normal" both when the engine is running too cold and overheating. Use the
instrument pack diagnostics (test no. 7.0) to find out the
actual coolant temperature. This will also help diagnose any fan problems as your low speed should start running at 100˚C.
