Sludge is standard on all V6s, I clean mine out once a year, no need to worry.

We've got four V6s in the family, two were dead easy to bleed - raise tank, fill, start and drive. But the other two were more difficult and I found it advisable to open the bleed screw while the engine was warming up to expel air. Needed several attempts before it worked. Don't throw in the towel yet.
