I didn't note any of that when I removed the bulb on the ZT about eight weeks back after a pigeon committed suicide by flying into my headlamp while I was making good progress along the A19, to allow the refitting of the reflector to ball socket of the height adjuster.

Perhaps you unknowingly bought knockoff copies, the ones I have are certainly fit for service

Anyway they have surpassed expectation in terms of lifespan, so I won't complain at that
