The best help I have found for doing the KV6 belts (other than the manuals and tools of course) is an old MGR training video on you tube with a 90's presenter in a very 90's suit and an older technician in a shop coat. The technician goes through the belt procedure step by step with an engine on the bench. When I do belts I have the video on my lap-top and advance and reverse it as I go along.
One thing to note is how easy all the fasteners undo for him. Not only is there no car in the way but that demo engine has probably been apart 100 times!
