Was the one supplied by ECP Crosland by any chance?

Anyway forget that, the original manufacturers were either Mahle in Austria or Mann & Hummel in Germany.

So if you want to definitely have a decent quality original filter at a reasonable price, choose either

I fitted a genuine LR filter to my car at last service as I bought three new old stock Freelander 1 TD4 versions from Stratstone LR at Lemington at a reasonable price.

You pay your money and take your chances with filters, I will only fit decent quality filters to my car(s) and while some filters such as Wix, TJ, Crosland etc may look the part, they are not a patch on the real thing
