I think the thickness/quality of the cabin and boot carpets was reduced, with less soundproofing material as part of Project Drive. The soundproofing under the rear parcel shelf was also removed. I think there may also have been inferior quality door cards fitted later on - one member on here reported much reduced road noise when he added sound insulation inside the doors.
