It possible you have fuel filter separation. This is an £8 fix. The clip is available from ebay and about 1 hours labour at most. Ive just had the same problem and ixed it myself with the assistance of information from tbis forum but as people have already said garages want to fit new pumps and filters resulting in big bills for the customers.
