We left Zed last time at Mey a few miles west of John O'Groats. After stopping at the church in Canisbay just outside Mey where the Queen Mother used to worship when she stayed at the Castle of Mey, ( the tombstone for Dutchman Jan de Groot can be found inside the church. He used to run a ferry to Orkney and so gave his name to John O'Groats.) Zed made his way into John O'Groats for a good look around. ( this was a lot better than the last time I was there in 2005 after completing the Hero event Le Jog.
After leaving John O'Groats, this time South Zed stopped at Duncansby Head to see the magnificent views, lighthouse and the "5 Sisters".
The road South on the East Coast is a much better one than up the West. It soon takes you through Wick, Lybster and down passed Dunrobin Castle. ( well worth a visit). After an overnight rest in Dornoch, the following day took us over the Moray Firth into Inverness. ( the official start and finish of the North Coast 500.)
It was then a fairly short route back across the Black Isle through Dingwall to pick up our original starting point. ( see episode 1!)
Final photos of Zed and John O'Groats and then the journey South including the Dornoch Firth from Zeds Hotel. He did admit liking the little red car in front of the 75 in the John O'Groats car park!.........I assured him it would not have been as comfortable!

Sorry this is a little late after Christmas with the previous part being put on here in December. It is now time for another custodian of Zed to take over.......he has been up in Scotland long enough!! It sounds like we have someone who would like him for his next adventures?? Please message me if you would like to have Zed for a while and I will get him sent to you. This will work out well as the Rover 75 is being sold in the next few weeks and Zed is getting fed up of Subarus!!!!
