The most probable explanation is that the silver resistor is open circuit. The radiator fan should run continuously when the air con. is operating in the current hot weather. You will need to replace the silver resistor with an uprated gold item which can be bought from club trader
Jules or on the internet.
Just to check, is the control box lid on the replacement fan system labelled 'M47' or 'PWM2'?
