After a bit of digging on the web it looks like the tube is just a simple push fit into a connector much like those found elsewhere on the kv6.
How it got damaged enough to produce an oil leak is beyond me, but the best is yet to come, I have to put right the bodge by probable replacement of the tube and connector due to it being "fixed" by some form of epoxy putty which dries as hard as steel.
