I think you're bridging the wrong connections Ron. Please see my post no. 7 where I explain that the colour codes of two of the wires can easily be confused. You want grey with yellow tracer and black which are the two
closest together!
This bridging only energises the clutch. If it fails to do so, it doesn't mean the compressor is mechanically faulty. It means that you either have a poor electrical connection somewhere in the circuit (likely) or, rarely, that the clutch has burnt out (very rare).
