Yes the bolts were out and the nut was off. That was the easy bit and tensioner came loose straight away. I was using a 2 foot pry bar to lever the armwhen it cracked.
After liberal use of penetrating fluid and about ½ an hour tapping away at it, the arm finally caved in and came loose.
Turns out it was rusted solid, see photos. Also looked like it had been wearing unevenly for some time as there was a groove worn in it.
The old tensioner may well be ok, but s** it I've got a new one and I'm not doing this again!
I'm supposed to be driving to Wales on Saturday at some point....
I got the new arm in place, packed in grease, then fiddled for ages because the tensioner was upside down
Pulleys now on, I'm ready to refit alternator, pump, Idler, belt, engine mount, wheel arch, and simply change the oils in gearbox and engine.
Then have a holiday.
