Thank you, the answer is "none of the above".

The end of the pipe is of a plastic type and fits into a non-threaded hole in the throttle housing. There is nothing to provide any friction to keep the thing in place. I suspect that I will have to just find a similar diameter piece that holds tighter than the original.
