It has been seen before where the engine cuts out, and fails to restart afterwards.
All the fuel pumps run, giving the impression of a fuel pump failure.
If there is an electrical reason, (such as an intermittent lack of power to the Canbus from the under-bonnet fusebox), the injectors will not fire, and the car will not start.
BigRuss, Marinabrian, and Madamoiselle Colvert have seen the problem repeatedly before on my car, 'Perseverance', and others. There were no other symptoms.

You could try CB750Chris and his T4, if you are coming back via Portsmouth.
You could try removing an exterior bulb, and see if the bulb failure warning appears, as Canbus errors may stop the bulb failure warning working.
