Firstly, apologies for not coming back sooner. It has been a busy time with hire cars, hotels, travelling etc.

I would like to thank everyone for their support, ideas and suggestions. They have helped me to keep going.

I have finally convinced the French breakdown service, after submitting a formal complaint, that the only way my car is going to be fixed is for them to repatriate it back to the UK. As France is very much a paper-based nation, I have been quite busy putting all the formalities together. We are probably 90% there so things should be moving in the right direction soon. My car will be going to WH Brand near Spalding, who I have used to service and repair my Rovers over the years so I know it will be fixed properly. They say it should take about 10 to 14 days to deliver my car so, when I find out what the problem is, I will add to this post because, if I were you, I’d like to know what was actually wrong with it.
