You’ve had success with the Freelander slaves, as have a couple of other people, and also when I asked on a LandRover forum if slave cylinder failure is common, and what slave do they recommend, I got one reply.

I doubt it, it's the exact same part, albeit with a different input pipe.
Talking of Land Rover forums, if asking about things related to the Freelander, in the main most don't bother answering as the Hippo is seen by many as "not a proper Land Rover" which may explain the lack of responses.
