Does 400mA (0.4A) drain sound possible for a faulty diode pack?
I shall be releived and annoyed if it is the alternator as a reconditioned unit was only fitted 18 months ago.

It was the alternator diode pack when I had a "flat battery" issue but new alternators were still available when it happened to me 10 years ago.
